About Us
Digital Publishing Academy is far beyond a conventional education project that merely transmits technical information. It is an intellectual movement born to cultivate a young generation capable of independent thinking, deep research, and synthesizing original intellectual values. By bringing together veteran publishers, creative writers, and visual designers with the young generation, it teaches the art of periodical publishing not just as a printed medium, but as an enduring and powerful form of communication.
This inspiring journey is founded and led by the Digital Generation Association, an organization dedicated to preparing enthusiastic minds for the challenges and opportunities of the future. The association views cultivating new talents as a primary duty to shape future intellectual leaders. In this context, it provides a comprehensive curriculum covering creative writing, editing, page layout design, and digital publishing processes completely free of charge to aspiring writers, students, and literature enthusiasts of all ages.
Our History & Achievements
Laying the Intellectual Foundations
The foundations of the Magazine Publishing Academy project were laid with a clear vision: to reconnect the young generation with written culture. From day one, our mission was to raise active intellectual producers rather than passive consumers.
Expanding the Fanzine Movement to International Fairs
In collaboration with Esenler Municipality, we launched the fanzine school across 10 institutions, engaging over 300 students. Our young talents transformed their thoughts into 75 unique fanzines, which were proudly exhibited and represented by the students themselves at the 10th International Magazine Fair, earning high praise from cultural figures and national leaders.
Ministerial Support and the Digital Transformation
Supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we started physical workshops and author-student meetings with 639 students from 20 schools in Istanbul, and 60 different face-to-face author-student meetings were held. With the onset of the global pandemic, we transitioned all our classes to online platforms within a single week without interruption, establishing an advanced remote educational publishing framework.
Digital Magazine Academy Name and Full Digital Transformation
In 2020, we officially adopted the name Digital Magazine Academy. As rapidly changing global conditions and rising printing costs heavily restricted opportunities for youth to showcase their talents, we overcame these barriers by quickly completing our full digital transformation to become the first institution to provide online publishing education. Both our workshops and magazines transitioned completely to digital. This digital leap allowed us to accept participants from different provinces across the nation, effectively expanding our training to the entirety of Turkey. During the pandemic, we published the digital magazine "KOLONYA" and our April 23 Special Issue sponsored by Türk Telekom, while continuing to support talented youth through occasional physical workshops and face-to-face gatherings.
Ministry of Culture Support and Continuity
Our collaboration, initiated with the support of the T.R. Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has been continuing uninterruptedly since 2021. With this strong state support, we elevate our digital publishing standards each year, enabling hundreds of young talents to step into the publishing world by producing high-quality, copyright-respecting content.
Turkish Maarif Foundation Partnership and First Overseas Education
In partnership with the Turkish Maarif Foundation, we launched our first international education programs. Through specialized workshops in Turkish and English, we reached out to promising youth across the Turkic world and countries in Turkey's sphere of influence, empowering them to gain deep knowledge in culture, arts, and publishing, and successfully publish their own authentic digital magazines.
MagPublish Partnership and Global Expansion
Through our strategic partnership established with the innovative digital publishing platform MagPublish in 2026, we carried all digital magazines designed by our students to a global library. This integration maximizes the visibility of the high-quality works produced by our youth in the internet ecosystem, bringing them directly to international readers and publishers.
