Terms of Use
In case of any discrepancy between this translation and the Turkish version, the Turkish version prevails.
Version 1.0.0 · Effective October 3, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of Dijital Dergicilik Okulu ("DDO", "we", "us") at www.dergicilikokulu.com. By visiting the platform, creating an account or using any feature, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. Who We Are
DDO is a free, publicly accessible online education project about digital magazine making and publishing. It is run from Türkiye and supported by Dijital Jenerasyon Derneği (the Digital Generation Association).
Contact: dergicilikokulu@gmail.com
2. Definitions
- Platform: the www.dergicilikokulu.com website and all related digital services.
- User: anyone who visits the platform or opens an account.
- Educational Content: lessons, quizzes, exams, assignments, images, videos, texts and other curriculum materials.
- Submitted Work: any content a user uploads or submits, such as writing, designs, magazine drafts or a capstone project.
3. Eligibility and Age
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform.
- If you are under 18, or under the age of digital consent in your country (where that is higher than 13), you need the consent of your parent or legal guardian before creating an account. Such consent is presumed to have been given, and we may ask for proof where appropriate.
- If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete the account and related data.
- You confirm that you have the legal capacity to accept these terms, or that your parent or guardian has completed it by giving consent.
4. Accounts
- You can sign in with Google, Apple or email.
- You must provide accurate, current and complete information.
- You are responsible for the security of your account. Do not share your credentials, and tell us immediately if you notice unauthorised use.
- Each person may have one account only; accounts may not be transferred or shared.
- An administrator may suspend or close an account if these terms are breached, false information is given, or the security of the platform is at risk.
5. The Academy
The DDO academy consists of a curriculum of 5 levels, lessons, quizzes, level exams, a capstone project and a final exam, and certificates for those who complete the programme. Your progress is tracked in your account.
- Application-based programmes: some parts or programmes of the platform are application-based. Open access to the platform does not mean every application will be accepted; acceptance depends on capacity and evaluation.
- Certificates: certificates issued by DDO are DDO's own certificates of participation and achievement. The authenticity of a certificate can be checked on the platform's verification page using the certificate number; a certificate may be revoked if it was obtained or used in a misleading way.
- The curriculum, exam rules, passing criteria and certificate requirements may change over time.
6. Free Service and Right to Change
The platform is free of charge. Because of this, we may change, restrict, suspend or discontinue the service, content or features at any time without prior notice. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or permanent.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- break the law, act contrary to public morality or infringe others' rights, or spread hate speech, harassment, threats, discrimination, obscene or misleading material;
- cheat in exams, take an exam on someone else's behalf, imitate certificates or create fake documents;
- use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to collect content or overload the platform;
- try to bypass security measures, gain unauthorised access to accounts or data, or distribute malware;
- resell, commercially distribute or republish Educational Content;
- use the platform to send unsolicited commercial messages to other users.
8. Intellectual Property
Rights in the Educational Content, curriculum, design, logo, software and other elements of the platform belong to © Dijital Dergicilik Okulu or its licensors unless stated otherwise. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Educational Content for personal, non-commercial learning purposes only. Copying, reproducing, scraping, reselling, creating derivative works from or commercially exploiting the content without written permission is prohibited.
9. User Content and Submitted Works
- Ownership: you keep ownership of your Submitted Works. DDO does not acquire your intellectual property rights.
- Limited licence: by submitting a work you grant DDO a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, limited licence to host it, review it, display it in your account and (where you choose) on the platform, and carry out the technical steps needed to run the education programme. This licence does not transfer ownership.
- Warranties: you confirm that your work is original, does not infringe anyone's copyright, personality, privacy or other rights, contains nothing unlawful, and that you hold all necessary permissions.
- Notice and takedown: if you believe content infringes your rights, send a notice to dergicilikokulu@gmail.com identifying yourself, the right you hold and the location of the content. We will remove or restrict access to content where a notice is justified, and may close accounts of repeat infringers. The person who submitted the content may respond to the notice.
- We may remove content that breaches the law or these terms without prior notice.
10. Third-Party Services
The platform may contain or link to services that are independent of DDO:
- MagPublish: a separate platform used for publishing magazines, with its own terms and privacy policy. Your activity on MagPublish is governed by that platform's terms.
- YouTube embeds, Google services (sign-in, analytics, ads) and other external links are governed by their own terms and policies.
- DDO is not responsible for the content, services or practices of third parties.
11. Advertising Notice
Advertisements may be shown on content pages of the platform. Ads are delivered by third parties (in particular Google) and do not mean that DDO approves or recommends them. See our Cookie and Advertising Policy for details.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, use the platform unlawfully, or if the platform is discontinued. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law) will remain in effect.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
The platform and its content are provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, DDO is not liable for indirect losses, third-party content or services, or service interruptions. Liability that cannot lawfully be limited (for example for intent or gross negligence) is not affected. See the Disclaimer for details; it forms an integral part of these terms.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify DDO against claims, damages and reasonable costs brought against it because you breached these terms, the law or the rights of third parties. This applies to the extent permitted by the mandatory consumer law of your country.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction over disputes. However, your mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence, and your right to bring proceedings before the competent court there, are preserved; these terms do not limit them.
16. Changes and Versioning
We may update these terms from time to time. Each update carries a version number and an effective date, shown at the top of this page. For material changes you will be asked to accept the new version again while signed in. Continuing to use the platform after a new version takes effect means you accept it. How acceptance records are kept is explained in our Privacy Policy.
